Kimberley Cuisine

Well-known restaurant identity Chris Taylor has travelled the globe pursuing his passion for food. The owner of Fraser’s Restaurant in Kings Park and now Indiana Tea House in Cottesloe has always believed in sharing his love of cooking. Watching Chris as he works his magic with everything from barramundi to boabs - you know his talent is no passing fad.

A long-time believer in the value of fresh, quality ingredients - Chris returns to the Muster in 2008 to showcase the delicious seafood, beef, fruit and vegetables of the Ord Valley at two intimate classes.

Comedy Under the Stars

Armed with four 10” astronomical telescopes, binoculars, a digital projector and a computer or two, Telescopic Roger’s Comedy Sky Night will redefine your definition of star-gazing. After a couple of decades analysing the night sky from the comfort of their swags - hosts Roger Montgomery and John Angliss’ astronomy presentation can only be described as ‘off the planet’! Meteors, comets, planets, stars, and all things astronomical come under interrogation by the duo as they blend humour, science and the time-honoured art of story-telling to create a night that is pure Australian comedy.

Telescopic Roger’s Comedy Sky Night - Sunday May 11 and Monday May 12.

Literature and Graves

Literature and Graves in the Long Grass was described by the Courier Mail’s Mark Day as ‘the most interesting of all’. An off-the-beaten-track tour through the long grass to find the graves of Ord River pioneers, the walk is escorted by Wendy Carter - Secretary of the Kununurra Historical Society. You’ll visit three graves on the old Ivanhoe Station where famed author Dame Mary Durack and her family were raised as well as visiting Dave Suttee’s grave at Capsize Creek. A stockman at the turn of the century, Dave was Mrs Aeneas Gunn’s inspiration for Dan in her classic tale of outback life, We of the Never Never.

Literature and Graves in the Long Grass - Tuesday May 6 and Thursday May 15. For bookings contact the Kununurra Visitor Centre, or visit the website.

Sunset Cruising

Encompassing an area of up to 2,000 square kilometres, Lake Argyle is home to an amazing array of wildlife including freshwater crocodiles, native fish, various marsupials, reptiles and approximately one third of Australia’s bird species. And the only way to really appreciate its vastness and beauty is aboard Lake Argyle Cruises Sunset Cruise. As the sun sets behind the Carr Boyd Ranges the view of the rugged red cliffs reflecting in the crystal blue water is nothing short of spectacular - especially when accompanied by a glass of wine, gourmet cheeses and a gentle cruise through some of Lake Argyle’s 90 islands and inlets.

Lake Argyle Cruises Sunset Cruise - Thursday May 15.
Tickets are now available from the Visitor Centre.
