Hoodoo Magic Under the Moon

Following in the footsteps of legendary Australian performers Jimmy Barnes, Marcia Hines, Kate Ceberano and Wendy Matthews - ARIA Hall of Fame winners, the Hoodoo Gurus will headline the bill at the legendary Airnorth Kimberley Moon Experience in 2009.

The Gurus are the epitome of the walking jukebox, with a back catalogue of classic singles and albums that have become as much a part of the Australian consciousness as any other. Their long list of classics include I Want You Back, What’s My Scene and Good Times.

Lead singer, Dave Faulkner, wrote to our Muster supporters recently, saying "If Western Australia is our greatest state (and you KNOW I think it is) then the Kimberley must be Australia’s most spectacular part. We’re all really looking forward to reacquainting ourselves with the unique countryside and friendly locals."

Don’t forget the Kimberley Moon Experience kick-starts next year’s party on Saturday May 9. Tickets will be available early next year. Check the website for more information and updates.

Meet the Team

This time last year, Kris Currow was living in Perth with her family, working full-time as a Senior Manager with the Town of Claremont. That was until the whirlwind Muster arrived! With only two months before Muster 2008 kicked-off, her long-time friend, the late Jim Hughes, called Kris. A key staff member had left unexpectedly and help was needed to keep the Muster on track!

There’s nothing like a challenge to get the adrenalin pumping, so Kris packed a bag and headed north and, for the next eight weeks, became the fastest learning Muster Manager Kununurra had ever seen. It was challenging, difficult, and frustrating – but she loved it and she’s back, together with her offsider Taneille, to ensure the 2009 Muster is the best yet. If there’s anything you want to know about the Argyle Diamonds Ord Valley Muster, contact Kris and Taneille on 08 9168 2720.

Hero Sponsors

Argyle Diamonds, Airnorth and Kimberley Fine Diamonds have been precious partners of the Ord Valley Muster and Kimberley Moon Experience for the past three years.

Their involvement goes far beyond typical sponsorship, dedicating significant resources as well as financial support to assist the entire Muster Management Board in the coordination of Kununurra’s biggest festival.

We take our hats off to these organisations for supporting their local community and helping us create an event recognised as the best in the State by the Tourism Council, WA.

For further information please contact the Kununurra Visitor Centre on 08 9168 1177.
