Jimmy to Ignite the Moon

Australia’s all-time favourite performer, Jimmy Barnes has been confirmed as the headline entertainer for this year’s Kimberley Moon Experience. For over 30 years Jimmy has been rocking audiences across the globe, and on Saturday May 17, his ever-popular brand of rock and roll will add a new dimension to the Ord Valley Muster’s star-studded night.

The spotlight will be shared amongst the Barnes’ clan with daughters Mahalia and Elly-May also joining Jimmy on his trip north. Plus, a diverse collection of unique Australian talent will also perform, including the Mirima Indigenous Dancers; Australian Army Band Darwin; Chris Matthews; Bizircus; Blue Shaddy; and perpetual crowd favourites Peace, Love and All That Stuff.

Jimmy, as the headline artist of the 2008 Airnorth Kimberley Moon Experience, follows appearances in previous years by the likes of Marcia Hines, Kate Ceberano, Australian Idol’s Jessica Mauboy, Richard Clapton, Anna Sleptsova, Wendy Matthews, Dave Mann Collective and the Darwin Symphony Orchestra.

At only $75 per person, tickets to this year’s event will sell-out quickly. Contact the Kununurra Visitor Centre for further information and bookings.

New Year, New Look

The Ord Valley Muster website was re-launched earlier this month, introducing a new, vibrant look for 2008. Featuring over 120 stunning images of the people and places of Kununurra, the new website pays tribute to the beauty, diversity and culture of the East Kimberley region.

The Argyle Diamonds Ord Valley Muster Calendar is a highlight of the website, with each day’s activities accessible via the ‘What’s On’ link, located in the bottom left corner of every page.

Plus, this year the Ord Valley Muster Organising Committee has produced a series of postcards to celebrate the Muster and East Kimberley region. Featuring the iconic landmarks of the Sleeping Buddha rock formation; Echidna Chasm at Purnululu National Park; a collection of images from Muster events; and headline entertainer – Jimmy Barnes, the free postcards can be downloaded here, or pick one up from a Tourist Bureau or Visitor Centre near you.
