Chris Matthews

Take a pinch of blues, add some country, and a generous dose of foot stompin’ rock-n-roll and you have, Chris Matthews. Originally hailing from south-west WA, Chris has spent the past few years sharing his music across Australia. After almost 60,000 kilometres on the road, Matthews knows his way around his instrument and the stage. His guitar prowess, whether on six, 12 strings, or lap steel is reminiscent of Jeff Lang, John Butler or Hendrix. He has developed a unique style of playing bass, rhythm and lead at the same time which is amazing to witness and hear. From flat out finger picking to wild slide, chunky rhythms and shimmering melodies, it’s hard to believe its just one guy up there making it all happen.
