Afterwards enjoy morning tea on the veranda of the present Ivanhoe Station, courtesy of hosts Alison and Rod McComb, before visiting Dave Suttee’s grave at Capsize Creek. Suttee was head stockman Dan, as characterised in Mrs Aeneas Gunn’s novel We of the Never Never.

Although the couple of kilometres of walking is mostly flat you will need a reasonable level of fitness and agility to climb over fallen tree branches and negotiate potholes along the bush pathways. Sturdy footwear, hat, sunscreen or long sleeves, and a water bottle are essential.
